Series: Women's Murder Club / Book: 4

This is the fourth book the in the Women’s Murder Club series. It follows Lindsay Boxer through a trial brought against her due to the shooting of a suspect after an electrifying car chase. While on sabbatical, what is planned as a getaway drags up an old unsolved case from Lieutenant Boxer’s past when an old killer’s modus operandi is being used once again in new murders in Half Moon Bay.
The storyline for this book was swift and well presented. There are many other novels I’ve read with two authors where each writer’s voice is distinct and it makes the book harder to read. Patterson and Paetro do a fabulous job of writing as one with plenty of action and suspense peppered throughout the story. I will say, however, that when I look back on the narrative and think about how satisfying it is…I think that there were many scenes where I should have been on the edge of my seat and I never really felt that big level of anticipation. I’m not sure if that was a fault of the narrator (I listened to this one on Audible), or something just barely missing from the writing that I was looking for. ¯Who’s to say? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This would be the perfect book to read if you like Law & Order SVU.
